I don't know who all I told about our spider invasion, or maybe you saw it on the news - about the giant lake spiders invading Saratoga Springs - well, one broke into our house!

But don't worry - we caught it...

and Maddie decided to be friends with it...

then Zak wrestled it to the ground...

and we conquered the spider in the end!

Here is a video of Lizzie smiling. She has been so happy and smiley lately. This still isn't the best of her smiles, but it was all I could get her to do for the camera. She is such a sweet happy baby.

We went to Duchesne this weekend to see Grandma & Grandpa Thomas - it was grandpa's birthday! Happy Birthday! It was our first real outing with Lizzie. We are still trying to avoid anywhere with big crowds, but it's fun to go to grandma & grandpa's. Zak & Maddie got to ride the 4-wheeler. They had lots of fun doing that! And I got some cute close-ups of Lizzie. She is about 4 weeks old now!

Elizabeth Ann Thomas

We have a new addition to our family! Elizabeth Ann Thomas was born on July 30th at 11:14 p.m. She weighed 8 lb 4 oz & was 20.5" long. It was quite an eventful birth. She came out with the umbilical cord on her head so we had to do an emergency c-section. And then the doctors discovered a bacterial infection the day after she was born and she had to spend 10 days in the Special Care Nursery receiving antibiotics. She recovered very well and was able to come home today (August 10th, which was her due date:) We are so grateful for all the doctors and nurses at Timpanogos Hospital that took such great care of her for those long 10 days. We were able to stay with my mom for that time which was such a blessing because she lives just 2 blocks from the hospital so I was able to nurse her every 3 hours for her entire stay. And she watched Zak and Maddie while I spent so much time at the hospital. We are so glad to have her home. Zak and Maddie love their new "baby Lizzy" as they call her. I guess I will have to change the address to our blogspot because we are no longer Thomasfamilyoffour. We are now Thomas family of five! Thank you everyone for your support and prayers and help through this scary time. I know that we were blessed greatly and we are so thankful to have our sweet little girl home and healthy. We went to the Hogle Zoo last weekend. It was such a nice day. It was almost exactly a year ago that we were there with our family and decided that we wanted to move home. We were sitting on the train and the strongest feeling came over Mat and I at the same time that it was just time to move home. And then we were actually home less than 1 month later. And we are so glad that we came back! I love being home and being able to spend so much time with family again!
